Planet found orbiting strangely three stars…

Astronomers have discovered a planet 1300 light-years from Earth, strangely orbiting three stars instead of one .

Strange celestial body GW Oriit also has a disk bisected at an odd 38-degree angle, as if Saturn’s rings were broken in the middle and bent. These inner rings contain as much as 30 Earth masses of dust, enough to form planets.

Stefan Kraus, professor of astrophysics at the University of Exeter, said the discovery was an “extreme case”, noting that the disks around planets are usually in a plane rather than distorted and misaligned.

The team had been investigating this strange planet in the constellation Orion for 11 years, using a variety of measuring instruments that allowed the gravity to study and map the motions of the stars it orbits.
