Russian President Vladimir Putin said successive U.S. and Western sanctions after the invasion of Ukraine had led to a ‘global crisis’ and would have serious consequences.
Russian President Vladimir Putin says Western sanctions against Russia have led to a ‘global economic crisis’.
Speaking at today’s economic meeting, Putin said western sanctions with extreme political ambitions and Russian hostility were hurting their economies and their citizens.
“Sanctions provoke a global crisis,” Putin said. The Western elite is ready to sacrifice the rest of the world to protect their global sovereignty.”
Noting that its economy has successfully withstoated Western sanctions, the Russian leader said Russian companies would fill the void left by the withdrawal of Western businesses.
