Included in HAVELSAN ‘s “digital unity” concept , BAHA , a vertical take-off and landing unmanned aerial vehicle , successfully completed its first field test at the border, accompanied by security forces.
HAVELSAN Assistant General Manager Muhittin Solmaz gave information about their work in the field of unmanned systems.
Noting that they have recently completed the first field tests of BAHA in company with the security forces, Solmaz said, “As a result of the field tests we carried out with our security forces, we continue our development activities with the inputs we receive from the user. We hope to make tests in the field with these inputs again at the beginning of 2022 and see the successful results.” said.
Explaining that BAHA weighs 30 kilograms and can carry 5 kilograms of payload, Solmaz said, “Especially our vehicle, which we call under the cloud, can operate even in cloudy weather and perform autonomous missions in border regions. It is an autonomous aircraft that gains time capability with swarm algorithms. able to carry out his duties.” he said.
SUCCESSFULLY PASSED THE TESTS
Explaining that they carried out tests in different field conditions in the border regions, especially because of its vertical take-off and landing capability, Solmaz said that BAHA flew at an altitude of 7,500 feet with domestic and national equipment, 10 kilometers away from the ground support center, received and transmits images for reconnaissance and surveillance purposes. He stated that he resisted and made autonomous take-offs and landings.
Muhittin Solmaz, who also gave information about the latest situation in the “digital unity” concept, said that they thought they had successfully completed the middle class first level unmanned land vehicle and successfully passed the tests.
Emphasizing that they see unmanned land and air vehicles as a system and aim to be able to perform the task assigned to them together with swarm algorithms, Solmaz said:
“At this point, we have integrated our BAHA platform with our land vehicles. With a single operator, we can deploy more than one land vehicle and our under-cloud unmanned aerial vehicle on a joint mission. Our aim is to be able to test them with 20-30 vehicles. We aim to demonstrate these trials in the field in the middle of 2022. Swarm Our work on the algorithm continues. Our platforms have achieved a certain success. Our work on user inputs continues.
